Art Prize is the largest art contest in the world and is held in our very own GRAND RAPIDS, MI. Artists from all of the world compete in the prestigous event. The city of Grand Rapids is a buzz from September 24th to October 12th.
Students are able to walk the entire city and explore the vast variety of art expression. Mediums range from recycled pieces to pencil drawings and large scale mosaic murals. Interactive pieces are also a highlight for out students. The actually take part in the finished product. This year we are heading over on Wednesday, September 28th. Boarding a bus at 6:00 a.m., venturing the city and returning home approximately at 9:00 p.m. Students will bring a sack lunch and we will be stopping at the Golden Coral for a sit down family style dinner. This is such a great opportunity for us to see all types of cultural work and experience diversity. We are very lucky to have this adventure in our own state. |
